Many people start memorizing the Qur’an with great enthusiasm… but after weeks or months, much of what they memorized begins to fade.
Dr. Saeed Abu El'Ela Hamza shares a practical method called “The Five Fortresses” that protects your memorization from being lost:
1. Continuous Recitation: Keep a daily habit of reading the Qur’an, even outside memorization.
2. Preparation: Prepare for your pages (monthly, weekly, nightly, and right before memorizing).
3. New Memorization: Take small, manageable portions and master them with focused repetition.
4. Near Review: Recite what you just memorized immediately, without looking.
5. Distant Review: Schedule weekly and monthly revision so nothing slips away.
💡 Memorizing the Qur’an isn’t just about adding verses to memory. It’s about discipline, consistency, and connection with Allah’s words.
